Laminate out, granite in. This is our first before and after project that we have posted to our new website. One of our most recent customers was very gracious to let us share the pictures of his kitchen remodel. Midwest Marble & Granite tore-out and disposed of the existing laminate countertops. We fabricated and installed Tan Brown granite from ASD with a granite composite sink  from Ukinox. The Tan Brown color is one of the darker colors. From far away it looks black with a little bit of dimension to it. Up close, the brown elements make this granite a desirable and attractive material choice. When fabricating the granite, we applied an eased edge, which is a modern, sleek, and straight-line edge that is very popular.

The granite composite sink has a European appeal with straight lines and a 60/40 design. This style sink is not as popular as the Blanco sinks that we offer but it does display a more modern aesthetic. The dimensions for this sink are 9″ deep x 31 7/8″ long x 17 1/2″ wide and require a sink cabinet base of at least 36″. The drains on either side are closer to the center divider versus the center of each bowl.

He used his existing appliances and the cabinets were refinished. The dark granite compliments the lighter cabinets, floor tile, and backsplash tile. There is also an accent tile in the backsplash that looks darker too, which pulls the light and dark together. The appliances have light and dark components that pull together the whole remodel. Tile and hardware were also done by the customer as well. There are brushed nickel handles on the cabinet doors, a brushed nickel faucet and soap dispenser, and oil rubbed bronze/black outlet covers. All of these elements tie into the black and stainless steel appliances.
