Updating your kitchen countertops? Of course calling Midwest Marble & Granite should be the first step but we’ll just throw out there that contacting a fabricating company should be at the top of the list. Unless you are already working with a contractor, designer, or builder, in which case, then you should check with them first. A fabricating company could have the resources to not only provide  a new countertop estimate but also provide estimates for tile backsplash, plumbing, etc. MM&G can provide estimates on all of these additions/updates in case you are thinking about having it all renovated.

Making selections is the second step. There are many different decisions to make when renovating any part of your house let alone just your kitchen. It can be overwhelming, especially when you are trying to see the big picture. Simply try to take it one step at a time. The first selection to be made is the stone choice. See our materials section of our website if you are unsure which stone to choose. Next is color choice. It can be difficult to pick a color if you don’t take a cabinet door/drawer with you because there are many shades of colors/stains in cabinets. Other selections include: edge profile, sink, flanges, tile, faucet, etc. The list just goes on and on.

The third step is to schedule a template date. Many different companies perform templates in many different ways. Nonetheless, a template can be one of the most important step in the whole process because it is going to measure and improve upon your existing countertops. It is basically setting the stage for the fabrication process.

While the fabricating company is working diligently on your countertops, they will notify you towards completion to schedule an install date.

Don’t be afraid to over ask questions. The fabricating company is there is help you in every step of the process.
